We started this gifts edit because we were always being asked the same question: "What should I give someone who has lovely taste?" Now we have an answer.

Everything in this collection is something we'd give ourselves — Cumbrian lavender candles, hand-thrown bud vases, sets of linen napkins, olive wood serving boards, small framed botanical prints. Beautifully made, considered, and far from the supermarket "gift sets" everybody dreads receiving.

Gifts by occasion

• Housewarming — a stoneware bud vase or beeswax candle set. Quietly welcoming.
• Hostess gift — a linen tea towel and a pot of local honey. Thoughtful without being too much.
• Wedding — a hand-thrown serving bowl or a pair of linen napkins. Used, not displayed.
• "Thank you" — a Cumbrian lavender candle. Always the right answer.
• Birthday — anything from the home decor collection. Tell us the recipient and we'll suggest something.

Wrapping

If you'd like an item wrapped as a gift, leave a note at checkout. We wrap by hand in unbleached tissue with a sprig of dried lavender or a sprig of bay — no plastic, no fuss. There's no charge.
